For Always on the Paper Trail Blog Hop

If you hopped here from Amy's blog, you are on the Paper Trail Blog Hop.  I've been waiting rather impatiently for this month's hop since we can now show off new and exciting products from the new Close to My Heart 2013 Spring/Summer Idea Book!  This month we are featuring the gorgeous For Always paper that features versatile, elegant black and white.  I loved the paper and can see it paired with any accent color.  When my son Paul was married last summer, I waited for the perfect paper to start scrapping him and his beautiful bride.  For Always fit the bill.  I added Sky to tie in Katie's flowers and Paul's tie.  It was such a wonderful day they will cherish For Always, and we as a family will cherish them.

I learned that photographing glittery elements and papers are hard.  You just never get the real beauty of the sparkle and sometimes the reflective nature even makes it hard to see features in the photograph.  I took lots of photos from lots of angles and lots of close ups hoping capture the all the glitter.  I love this layout, but not as much as the two featured in it!!!

The For Always paper also has a wonderful 15 card Workshop on the Go.  The black and white theme is highlighted with Smokey Plum and Lagoon papers, inks, and embellishments.  I love the cards and the stamp set but wanted something brighter than the dark purple so I switched all the Smokey Plum elements to Gypsy, a softer and brighter summer purple.  I made all these cards in less than a couple of hours and now have a great stash on hand!  Just to see the difference between the colors, I took photos of these cards on top of Smokey Plum paper so you could see the difference.  Fun cards, fun creating!

  2. Mare, your layout is stunning! I love your beautiful cluster of embellishments. So beatiful! I agree about photographing them. I couldn't get my black buttons to look anything but copper. So weird and so frustrating!
